We leave Marrakech early and drive over the High Atlas Mountains, passing through the Tizi N’Tichka pass at 2260 meters up. Our first big stop is the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a special old village that UNESCO protects. After that, we head to Ouarzazate to check out some cool places like the Kasbah Taourirt and some movie studios. Next, we drive to the Dades Valley, known for its many old fortresses, on the most scenic road. We end our day’s journey in Boumalne Dadès, where we will have dinner and stay overnight…
In the morning, we leave Boumalne Dadès for the Merzouga Desert dunes. After Tinghir, which is about 20 km away from the desert, we stop to see a beautiful grove and then go into the Todra Gorge. We will have lunch (10 up to 12 euros per meal), then travel through the palm-filled areas of Tinjedad, Touroug, and Erfoud. The highlight of the day is reaching Merzouga desert, where we get to ride desert camels through the amazing Erg Chebbi sand dunes and watch the sunset in Merzouga desert. We spend the night in traditional tents or in a guest house right in the sand dunes of Merzouga desert…
After breakfast in the desert, we start our trip from Merzouga back to Marrakech. We pass through the Moroccan desert, seeing oases along the way, going through Rissani and Nqob. Our journey takes us back to Ouarzazate via the Draa Valley, where we stop for lunch(10 up to 12 euros per meal)Â Then, we continue our way back to Marrakech.
